When we get more abuse from a single IP address than we do legitimate traffic, we really have no choice but to block it. If you don't think you did anything wrong and don't understand why your IP was banned.Īre you using a proxy server or running a browser add-on for "privacy", "being anonymous", or "changing your region" or to view country-specific content, such as Tor or Zenmate? Unfortunately, so do spammers and hackers. IP bans will be reconsidered on a case-by-case basis if you were running a bot and did not understand the consequences, but typically not for spamming, hacking, or other abuse. If you are responsible for one of the above issues.

That said, the fact that they're releasing the DX version makes me wonder if they're just rereleasing it on the Wii. If they start releasing Dreamcast games on XBLA, I'll be fucking ecstatic. Since Sonic & Knuckles will conclude the Sega Vintage Collection, I really hope they move onto other systems. If they're planning on rereleasing Sonic Adventure, I hope it's for Live Arcade. A rather bad oversight, but easily avoided. The only glitch I encountered, was at one point in Sonic's first level, there was a portion where I'd fall through the floor and die if I wasn't careful. Funnily enough, I got bored of the Game Gear games extremely quickly. I expected to hate the actual game, as I hated Sonic Adventure 2 (which was released on Gamecube first).

I only bought it for the Game Gear games that came free with it. I got 100% (all the emblems), and loved every second. My favourite Sonic game, and the only 3D one I liked in the slightest. I've only ever played the DX version, and I absolutely fucking loved it. This is especially useful for Big the Cat, in levels where you're required to swim underwater to reach secret caves and such. Push up against polygon seams and 75% of the time, the game will register you as being outside of the water and as a result, you won't ever drown. There are hundreds of little "what the fuck?" things in the game like that, and I see every single one of them every time I play.Īnother one: If you ever manage to be in an underwater portion of the game, it's ridiculously easy to exploit the game's shitty collision detection to ensure you won't ever run out of air. They didn't fix this for Sonic Adventure DX.

Turn the volume on your TV up a bit and listen - between the transition from the "fight Knuckles" cutscene and the "fight Knuckles" boss, every voice sample Knuckles uses in the boss encounter will play, in succession, at 3x speed. If you need an example about why the game is sloppy, start a new game and play up until the time you're tasked to fight Knuckles in Mystic Ruins. Sonic Adventure DX only exacerbates this feeling, because it takes a game that is sloppy and applies some equally sloppy "fixes" to certain parts of it. When the PC version of Sonic Adventure DX came out, I jumped on the chance to finally play a version of the game that wouldn't erase its own save files.Īnd all I can see now is what a sloppy game it is. This makes the game frequently bitch that it can't save anything anywhere, but if it meant my save files didn't get screwed up, I tolerated it. Eventually, when I wanted to play Sonic Adventure, I would load my save up and then rip the VMUs out. I have played and beaten Sonic Adventure a lot, to the point where I can tear through 90% of the game in one day. That has happened to me probably 15-20+ or so times in the nearly ten years I've owned the game. it would happen, spontaneously, with no explanation as to why.

It didn't matter which VMU I used, what ritual I forced myself through to shut off the game. It became especially annoying when I'd boot the game up after not having played the game for a year or more and find out I was back to square one. So I'd come to a point in the game, turn the system off, come back two or three days later because I wanted to replay a level or whatever, and find out that I had start the game over, from scratch. Back when the Dreamcast was still being manufactured, I discovered Sonic Adventure had a nasty habit of corrupting its own save data.

Maybe I'm just really, really burned out on Sonic Adventure.
